The Albertus Magnus Academy is a specialized, online supplemental school serving home-schooled middle and high school Catholic students along the I-85 Corridor in western North Carolina (Diocese of Charlotte) and Upstate South Carolina. The Academy, in its primary function, provides a formal learning enrichment program in religion, language arts, and social studies to develop critical thinking skills through the analysis of contemporary social issues, in the light of Thomistic Philosophy and Catholic Social Doctrine. The formal curriculum covers ethics and Catholic social teaching and learning how to promote and defend them through argumentation and debate. Students can also get practical experience in applying that knowledge and skills through its optional secondary program: its competition debate team.
The Albertus Magnus Academy, Inc. is a non-profit corporation in the state of North Carolina organized for educational and religious purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
